You made feeding school-aged children in our community a priority, and because of you and your donations in-store and online, in Ontario and Western Canada, we raised a total of $842,734 during Toonies for Tummies 2017.
This was our first year in Western Canada, working with Save-on-Foods. We hope that moving forward the word will continue to spread throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba that Toonies for Tummies is helping feed better futures in their own backyard.
Ontario has been our home-base for a long time and you did not disappoint. You raised well over $100,000 more than last year. THANK YOU!
Since 2000, with public and industry support, the Toonies for Tummies campaign has raised over $15 million for local student nutrition programs.
We have been working with the OSNPN (Ontario Student Nutrition Program Network) and the Breakfast Club of Canada in Western Canada to begin allocating the funds to local programs which will reflect donations made at local, participating retailers.
These funds will help ensure programs continue to have access to nutritious foods that support the success of children while promoting their health.
The mission of the Grocery Foundation is simple; to get food to hungry kids. This is an initiative that so many of us feel strongly about, and it’s clear in the support that we’ve received through these wonderful sponsors.
Specifically, we would like to thank the following:
